This harness is specifically engineered for a USDM LHD S14 Nissan 240sx (95-98) with the GM LS1 Cable Throttle engine swap. It was developed in house on an actual LS1 engine in an S14 240sx chassis to ensure a perfect fit to all engine connections. Wiring Specialties offers a number of options for common performance upgrades for this product. Build your perfect harness by selecting from the available options to the right, and as always – if you have any questions, please reach out to us. SUPPORTED ENGINES: Gen 3 Drive By Cable LS1/Vortec. Any LS1 from 2004 Pontiac GTO. DRIVE BY CABLE THROTTLE ONLY. CHASSIS: LHD USDM S14 240sx. Factory Speedometer use requires the DD SGi-5 Signal Conditioner Box. Factory Tachometer & Alternator Warning light remain functional. Optional Factory Gauge Sensor Adapters retain the factory Nissan Oil Pressure and Coolant Temp cluster functionality. The adapters are also machined to support most aftermarket temperature and pressure gauges that require a 1/8-27 thread pitch. Will require the use of Nissan S13/S14 Oil and Temp sensors (1-wire). Classic Update Wiring Harness Kit. Please note: Classic Update Kits do not support Ammeters. The Classic Update Series gives you the most complete kits on the market to Make Wiring THAT Easy. They are designed for specific year, make, and model configurations. The kit boasts 15 features making it the most complete system of its type in the industry. Standard turn signal flasher, hazard flasher, and horn relay mounted on harness. Fuse box and bulkhead assembly designed to fit in the stock firewall mounting location with only two new screw holes needing to be made in the firewall, template included. All required hardware supplied. New ATO fuse panel allows for easy fuse accessibility. Harness routes exactly as the factory original harness did, and is laid out to allow for nearly all aftermarket accessories such as; gauge packages, wiper systems, heat and air conditioning systems, etc. Many original switch connector bodies – an American Autowire exclusive feature. Supports most stock washer and wiper switches/configurations. Steering column connectors can plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns or stock 71-74 Mopar columns using the adapter and terminals included in the kit. Separate under dash courtesy lamp assemblies are also included for use along with your original dome/interior lighting feeds. Instrument cluster wiring is designed with a cluster harness disconnect system for easy service and assembly. Original style terminals, lamp sockets, connectors, and locking nuts or factory printed circuit board connector that will attach to the original cluster (another American Autowire exclusive) are provided for all stock cluster connections. The system will also connect into most popular aftermarket gauges such as CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS, DAKOTA DIGITAL, AUTOMETER, VDO, and others. Rear body harness assembly plugs into the main harness in the stock location, and will connect into your stock rear tail lamp assembly harness at the back of the car. Our longer leads allow for stock or custom routing of the wires. Rear body wiring includes backup light lead wires, stop and tail light lead wires, dome light leads, terminals, connectors and lamp sockets, new side marker lamp assemblies, and fuel tank sender wire with trunk grommet and tank connection. New floor dimmer switch is provided for ease of installation. Wire length and connection accommodate original floor mount dimmer switch. New headlight switch is included. GM bulkhead connectors for the engine and front light wiring are included (another American Autowire exclusive), and allow for easy installation with original or custom routing. Engine wiring includes connectors for original points type distributors, OEM Chrysler style starter relay connections, tach and ignition leads, etc. High-powered 1-wire alternator connections are supplied. Front lighting includes extra-long leads that can be routed for stock or custom applications. All head light, parking light, and directional light leads, along with a switched trigger wire for an electric fan relay (usually recommended with AC) are provided. Mating terminals and connectors are also provided for you to complete your custom installation. Many original style light sockets, switch body connectors, terminals, etc. This kit WILL NOT support the use of a factory ammeter. All AAW kits are engineered to supply the optimum charge to the battery. To achieve this performance, we route our 8ga. Charge wire directly from the alternator output charge terminal to the starter battery terminal. Due to the path of the charge being altered from the stock configuration, the gauge can no longer see a charge vs. A discharge, so it will not work properly. When ammeters were originally used, most generator or alternator current outputs were rated at a maximum of about 25-60 amps. Modified cars being built today typically utilize a 100 amp or higher output alternator. With these higher current units, ammeters, generally speaking, become a safety hazard. Ammeters are usually wired in parallel to the charging circuit, are typically un-fused, and can short very easily causing a fire. A voltmeter is recommended as a good alternative. This kit IS NOT set up with a resistance wire for a standard, points type ignition system. It is wired with a full 12 volt primary ignition feed that is hot in the run position. Primary ignition voltage in the starting position is handled via a full 12 volt bypass wire. Our system will support HEI, MSD, other electronic ignition systems, as well as most all computerized Fuel Injection systems. If you wish to run a points type system, there are illustrations on the engine connection pages to do so. Extra parts (ballist resistor) that are not included in this kit will be required to complete that operation. The early Mopar generators and externally regulated alternators are just not up to the task of providing power to an expanded wiring system like these classic update kits. The point of this kind of kit is really to allow people a way to upgrade and expand their wiring system and so an alternator upgrade is usually part and parcel to this kind of upgrade. NOTE: These kits are recommended for MODIFIED original vehicles, not OEM restoration projects. Note: This wiring is designed to work on Internally regulated alternator and have a 12v feed for the coil/distributor/ignition box. It is wired with a full 12 volt primary ignition feed that is hot in both the start and run positions. It will support HEI, MSD, other electronic ignition systems, as well as computerized Fuel Injec- tion systems.
