7.3L Powerstroke Valve Cover Gasket Kit. W/ UVC’s and Pigtails. Fits all Late 1997 – 2003 7.3L Powerstroke. This set includes (2) valve cover gaskets, (2) UVC Harnesses (these are the under valve cover harnesses that connect to the glow plugs and injectors), and (2) external pigtails. All parts are brand NEW. These parts are packaged as a set in order to repair the very common issue that occurs when poor connections at the valve cover gasket cause the connection to overheat and meltdown. Replacing only the melted connector often results in a repeat failure because the poor contact issue remains. Even a slight amount of oil leaking into the connection seems to precipitate failure due to the high voltage involved. The injectors are powered by 110 VDC. Updated design eliminates the connection inside the valve cover gasket eliminating the most common failure point. NOTE TO 1997 OWNERS: Early 1997 trucks use TWO connectors per valve cover. Later trucks only use a single connector per valve cover. This kit will ONLY fit the later trucks with ONE connectors per valve cover. NOTE: While you have the valve cover off is also a great time to replace the glow plugs. We carry premium American made glow plugs as well. Keep in mind that a partially shorted glow plug can also cause the connector meltdown issue. PLEASE READ. We value your patronage.
