While every vehicle specific (dedicated) electric kit is different, many contain a harness with corresponding plugs, high quality 7 pin or 13 pin socket with socket seal, trailer control module, power and communication cables and fixing kit (screws, cable ties, fuses, grommets etc). A full installation manual with step by step picture instructions is included in the box or alternatively a link (with QR code) is provided to download the instructions for your specific vehicle. Many vehicles require coding a download to the vehicle from a garage or with diagnostic equipment. On some kits this download is optional to activate such features as PDC (parking sensor) cut off, fog cut off, trailer stability programs etc while on other kits you must have the download in order for the kit to work correctly and legally. Vehicle specific wiring kits use one of three types of indicator warning device. These are audible bleeper (buzzer); dash warning light, using the vehicles bulb failure system when indicating; and the most common is original indicator warning light will flash at twice the usual rate when a trailer indicator has failed.
