Wire Wiring Harness

This listing is for a Vintage Original 1970’s Gibson Flying V Pickguard. This came off a 1978 Gibson Flying V that had some issues but the guard and wiring harness is original and intact. The guard comes as pictured with the original wiring harness. The pots date to the 26th week of 1978. The guard is in nice shape for it’s age but shows wear and aging and the white has yellowed somewhat giving the guard a nice vintage look. Some of the screw holes are slightly cracked but the guard is fully functional and ready to be installed. These late 1970’s and early 1980’s Flying V Pickguards are very rare and hard to find and don’t come up for sale very often. Wind the Blend fully on though, and you have the added advantage of the Tele-style Bridge & Neck in Positions (1) & (5), and all three together at Positions (2) & (4) – how cool is that! An incredibly versatile 7-way Strat. That behaves just like a standard Strat. Exactly when you want it to – and those pickups are about as good as you are going to get when you are searching for the best Strat. From Rory Gallagher to Mark Knopfler, via SRV,’The Malice From Dallas’ do it all… This being a Rhoadhouse – equipped custom special we just had to get at least one solderless connector in there! So I’ve wired in a single connector block between the selector switch and the volume just for the output socket: this means you have NO soldering to do in order to complete your build/upgrade. Simply remove your complete OEM pickguard, cut the wires to the output socket and bridge claw ground at the pot’s, drop in the new Rhoadhouse pickguard, clip the three wires you just cut to the solderless connector, screw down the pickguard, re-string, tune, and away you go, job done! How easy is that! NB : As with all my hardware, I keep nothing’on the shelf,’ it is ALL, without exception, handbuilt to order. That way, if you, the customer, have any specific alterations you may like to request, they can be incorporated into the build. This is hand built custom hardware, NOT mass-produced factory OEM, and as such it MAY sometimes take a little longer to dispatch than I would prefer, especially during busy and Holiday periods, so your patience and understanding would be greatly appreciated. ALL Axesrus pickups are hand-wound in their own workshop here in the UK, not rebadged Artek hardware from Korea. I can honestly say their work is unbeatable at any price, and their Customer Service is second to none. It is a standard’64 onwards template, which will fit 99% of American and MiM bodies, and the screw holes will all line up: on many Strat- style bodies (including the Bullet/Affinity range) not all of the holes will line up, so you’ll have to make some new ones… Anything more than that, you’re laughing, anything less and you’d need to remove some wood – something I have no problem with myself, but not everyone wants to do that, so make sure you get a steel rule in there before you order The neck cut-out is standard Fender Strat, so if you were fitting this to a Fender Strat- style body with a slightly wider heel you would have to file it to fit. It’s also a measure of just how much confidence I have in my own work. It is no idle boast to say you could fit this to a cheap’n’cheerful budget Strat. Copy and it would knock spots off any Squier, MiM/MiJ Fender, and many a Fender USA costing significantly more than what it would cost you to find this out for yourself! So, reassuringly expensive this may be but if you consider just what you are getting for your hard-earned cash, then you’ll suss you’re actually looking at a pretty shrewd investment. Yes, I’ll freely admit I’m biased but you won’t find a better setup at many times the price… However, I make no provision for Import Duty, etc, so these are entirely the Customers own responsibilty where incurred. As I always point out, all our products are individually hand made to order that’s how I keep down the costs to pass onto you, the customer… I can promise you will not be disappointed. We will declare it for what you need. Complete 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 pickguard assembly including jackplate. This has been in our parts drawer since long ago it came from a 1974 / 1975 4001 that bit the dust everything works…. > as with any set of vintage pots, it’s well advised to spray some de-oxit in them to remove any scratchiness…. > as noted, one knob won’t come off (we’ve tried to remove it, and it did not want to budge). Not that it matters, since why do you want to remove that knob anyway? It says’stuck’ but that does not mean it doesn’t rotate or move. The pot is fine, and the knob rotates. We just could not get it off. You will need: 8 pickguard mounting screws, 4 jackplate mounting screws, and you’ll need to solder the jacks back onto the assembly. Pots are dated 14th week of 1974. So the pickguard assembly will work for a 1974, or 1975. Maybe a late-released 1973. Jackplate stamp is OC = March 1975. Designed to fit RICs that use the “RIC-O-SOUND” jack (the 2 output jack configuration)…. This means the 4001 / etc. Restore your vintage RIC. Will be well packed up and will show up ready to ROCK!
