Valve cover Gaskets (2) The gaskets themselves are frequently re-usable, but the electrical connector which is an integral part of the gasket often gets melted. Internal UVC wire harnesses These are the harnesses that go under the valve covers and provide power to the glow plugs and injectors – these harnesses frequently go bad. Updated design eliminates the connection inside the valve cover gasket eliminating the most common failure point. 4 External harness connectors with pigtail wiring – these connectors often fail because of oil intrusion into the connection due to bad gaskets. This kit fits 1994 through EARLY 1997 7.3L Powerstroke only. Note to 1997 owners ONLY: Some 1997’s will use the early design gaskets with two connectors per valve cover (this kit) while others will use the later design with one connector per side.
