This Wiring Specialties PRO Series harness was designed from the ground-up, specifically for a Universal installation with a 1JZGTE VVTI engine swap. It was developed in house on an actual JDM JZ engine to ensure a perfect fit to all engine sensors. This harness will work exceptionally well in any installation chassis. Anything from a Dune buggy to a Classic car or a race car. The engine fires up with only 2 wires needing connection, along with a fuel line and a good battery. The harness is designed’Tucked’ for a clean installation. The harnesses are built to exceed OEM spec for wire quality and power/ground routing. Wiring Specialties offers a number of options for common performance upgrades for this product. Build your perfect harness by selecting from the available options to the right. Engine: JZZ30 and JZX100 1JZGTE VVTi. Any VVTI 1JZGTE from Chaser/Mark II. Any VVTI 1JZGTE from Soarer/Crown. Sports cars with no OEM body wiring or Non EFI cars. Cars that benefit from EFI wiring run without body wiring connections. 1JZ VVTi Specific Details. Oval alternator connector supplied, unless requested otherwise. New Style Starter, Plastic coolant and Oil pressure connector supplied be default. Standard – batched ignition (chip and coils) is supplied, but sequential NON VVTi is available as an option. External and removable Fuse and Relay block. Relay system installed for proper ECCS ON and OFF operation with ECU Memory retention. Relay block includes the Ignition, Fuel Pump and Fan relays. The Fan relay can be reclaimed as the AC relay. Fuel Pump output wire that connects directly to the pump. Starter trigger wire available in the interior for easy and clean install. Battery power pick-up at the starter for easy and clean install. Ignition input signal from ignition key. Harness is designed to keep the ECU in the cabin and will reach both left and right bulkhead openings. For GM/LQ9 coils upgrade should be used with an aftermarket ECU and run sequentially. Wideband option for ECUs that do not process a raw wideband signal, a controller must be used. Controller like a EUGO or the Haltech CAN wideband. AEM Infinity and ECU Masters ECUs (and other standalone ECUs) are wired for wideband control direct out of the ECU. The LSU 4.2 Version of the Wideband SHOULD be used, as per AEM. AEM Infinity and ECU Masters are pre-wired for Oil Pressure, Fuel pressure, Oil Temp, IAT and MAP sensor wiring directly to the ECU. ApexI PFC conversions ONLY include the IAT sensor on the main harness. The MAP sensor is wired separately, from the PFC box directly to the sensor. LS PCM Tachometer Adjustment – The LS1 PCM Startup Tune includes setup of the tachometer signal to work on your chassis. Signal conditioning is generally not required. Startup PCM Flash Tune. GM LS1 PCMs require basic tuning in order to run the LSx engine in a different chassis such as the 240sx, 300zx, Datsun etc. The VATS alarm or Immobilizer will prevent the engine from starting unless it is disabled. The standard base startup tune is VATS / EVAP / Rear O2 / Fuel Tank Purge removal. Most tunes leave the other parameters stock. No performance settings are changed with this startup tune – fuel map changes are NOT part of this service. Alternator Charge Cable – This item ties the starter/battery directly to the Alternator output, which allows the improved power routing on our harness to eliminate the wire running from the alternator to the fusebox and/or battery while still charging the battery normally. Grounding Kit – Our Kit ties a number if engine components to the body of the car and ensures that you will not have issues resulting from poor grounds. The Grounding Kit utilizes Ultra High temp fiberglass sleeving to allow installation under or around exhaust components. Very flexible mounting options allow you to connect the block, head, battery tray, alternator case and chassis to completely eliminate all grounding issues. Speedo Signal Conditioning – The Dakota Digital SGI-5 unit for Speed can’condition’ the signal to compensate for cross-platform swaps. If the Option exists to ADD the unit on the harness page for your swap, then you need it for proper speedo operation. Please note that some transmissions (350z, BMW ZF and S15 Silvia for example) do not have a speed sensor and will require a non-harness based solution like a GPS speedo. Plug-n-Play vs Universal – Plug-n-Play harnesses connect to your car’s underhood fuse box for power and to connectors under the dash for gauges etc. Universal harnesses do not need an underhood fusebox to connect to and the wiring for gauges and warning lights is provided as a’flying lead’ which are bare wires labeled with their function. Right Hand Drive (RHD) Conversions – If you used ALL the stock LHD chassis connectors for your RHD swap, order the LHD version of the harness. Battery Cables / Battery Relocation – The battery must be connected to the starter, so you need a battery cable from the positive battery terminal to the starter main power lug. Our Universal PRO harnesses are a perfect solution for the engine, and can come with an optional self-contained pre-wired fuse/relay block for ignition, cooling fans and fuel pump. If you plan on using your own relays and a switch panel, you do not need the fuse block. You just have to hook up start signal, fuel pump wires and a few other wires for tach and speedo, alternator warning light etc. Speedo and / or tach may need to have the signal adjusted using a frequency modulator (see Options to the right). Any non-VVTI 2JZGTE from MKIV Supra. For GM/LQ9 coils upgrade should be used with an aftermarket ECU and run sequentially. OEM ECUs require IGF signal produced by the ignition chip. When the chip is removed for LQ9 coil installation, an aftermarket ECU or IGF simulator box is required. Our Universal PRO harnesses are a perfect plug-n-play solution for the engine, with 3 options for the chassis connections. It was developed in house on an actual LS1 engine in an FD RX7 chassis to ensure a perfect fit to all engine connections. Plug and play features of this harness require the OEM RX7 body harness and fuse boxes to be UNMODIFIED. The harness utilizes the HIGH pressure OEM Mazda fuel pump relay, so it needs to remain on the chassis fuse box, unmodified. Harness kit includes a bypass switch to allow the use of RX7s High Pressure fuel pump. For proper ECT gauge functionality the RX7 ECT sensor must be installed in the OEM sensor opening on Bank 2 (cylinder 7) location on the LS engine. This is the 1-wire sending unit, NOT the 2-wire and it will require the use of an adapter fitting. Harness connection will be provided at bank 2 rear of the head location. It was developed in house on an actual JDM JZ engine to ensure a perfect fit to all engine sensors. The harness is designed’Tucked’ for a clean installation. The harnesses are built to exceed OEM spec for wire quality and power/ground routing. Wiring Specialties offers a number of options for common performance upgrades for this product. Build your perfect harness by selecting from the available options to the right. Engine:1JZA70, JZZ30, JZS170 and JZX90 1JZGTE. Any non-VVTI 1JZGTE from MKIII Supra. Any non-VVTI 1JZGTE from Chaser/Mark II. Any non-VVTI 1JZGTE from Soarer/Crown. Chassis: LHD USDM E36 BMW. Retains factory speedometer, tachometer, CEL, engine temperature gauge (requires BMW Sensor install), oil pressure sensor, alternator charge light, reverse lights and wipers. For proper ECT gauge functionality a BMW E36 ECT sensor must be installed into the coolant elbow on the JZ. Harness connection will be provided at the OEM JZ Gauge temp sender location.
